Bob single-handedly set up the Girls football section at APYFC and also somehow found the time to introduce Inclusive football as well.

Bob has been with our Club over twenty years, managing and coaching boys’ U10-U18 teams. In recent years, however, he has personally championed the development of Girls football with great energy, enthusiasm and selfless dedication to the extent we are now proud to have five Girls teams in the U10-U14 age range. As one of the Girls team managers put it ‘without him at least 55 local girls wouldn’t be playing regular club football today. Bob was a huge help in our first season and without him we wouldn’t have got off the ground.’

On top of this huge voluntary effort, Bob also trains an inclusive squad throughout the year which helps kids who otherwise would be excluded from playing structured football e.g. due to their learning difficulties, autism etc.

As a Club, we are hugely indebted to Bob for his voluntary work and many kids would not otherwise be enjoying their football as they are currently able to do.
