APYFC Committee Changes

25th February, 2015: by

To All Members, Players and Parents of APYFC,

A plan has been in place since the last AGM to replace the 3 key executive committee members of the Club: the Chair, the Treasurer and the Secretary by the time of this year’s AGM.

In this regard, I wanted to inform you that Richard Las has stood down as Club Secretary and David Smith will be taking over with immediate effect.
Richard had warned us last year that his work commitments would be significant during the coming year and this has indeed proved to be the case.
Thankfully, Richard has kindly agreed to help David with the transition over the next few months as David gets up to speed with the role.

On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to put on record our sincere thanks to Richard for the huge amount of effort and time he has devoted to the Club over the years and particularly in this important role.
We are all volunteers giving of our own time freely and he has given much more than most in many different ways.
In my own case, when I was setting up my team three years ago I found Richard to be helpful, encouraging and his consistently good humour made what seemed a huge task at the time that much more manageable.
I am sure many of you have similar stories and will wish to thank him personally.

David Smith is the new Club Secretary and most of you probably know him by now. David dreamt up the Club’s summer 5-a-side competition which has been hugely successful and has done much work behind the scenes, including raising funds for the Club.
If you or your parents need to get in touch with David then his contact details can be found on our website under his listing as Manager for U12 North.
Please give him your support and bear with him as he gets up to speed on all the issues.

For your information, David taking on this position will shortly lead to his wife, Catherine, stepping down as Treasurer to be replaced by Graham Martin.
There will be an announcement to this effect once Graham has had a chance to sit down with Catherine to review the financial operations of the Club.

For my part, I will be taking over as Chair from John Morris later in the year at the AGM.
I have been heavily involved in making sure we are in good shape to renew our FA Charter Standard with the help of Grazia and Eddy.

It just remains for me to wish you and your team continued success for the season.

Kind regards,

Robert Revel-Chion
